RSV and Pneumonia

Can I just say that when my kids get sick, they get the trash kicked out of them and then some. Dang!

Last Monday, Noah was running a fever and coughing so we took him in. The doctor did a test and said RSV. What?!?!?! The only way to treat it is albuterol via a nebulizer. He said Claire most likely had it too so we had to do these breathing treatments on them 4 times a day for 5 to 7 days. Noah snapped right out of it. Claire got progressively worse. On Thursday I finally took her back in and was told the same thing...RSV...keep up the breathing treatments. That night she had a coughing fit so bad that around her eyes and her lips turned blue so we decided to take her to the ER. Her O2 level was at 70%. They worry below 90%. They put her on oxygen immediately. She was a whole new person. They did x-rays, and found pneumonia too. They sent us home with more albuterol, an antibiotic and an oxygen tank. Ive taken her back three times to see if her oxygen was higher, but today it was still only at 86% so we are still on oxygen! Poor thing. Im taking her in again tomorrow to get her reassessed and figure out why she isnt getting better!

Brice has been awesome and sleeping out on the air mattress so that I dont wake up to their coughing. It has wiped them out completely. Say a prayer for us that they will both get better!
